College Life
College isn’t conducive to blogging. At all. Now that I’m a few weeks in, I’ve created a mater plan (with the help of my fellow UVa food blogger)! My plan is to photograph and review the several dining halls on Grounds, with the help of my friends. Hopefully this venture will be entertaining to you, inform my school of its food service, and aid UVa students in choosing a dining location.
Either way, it’s going to be pretty fun for us!

Hope you’re having fun at college! I’ve missed your posts though.
UVA is my favorite campus and I love Charlottesville. Great school choice!
Thank you! I absolutely love it here.
Love this idea! I plan to use your blog with my middle school Life Skills students. They need to be introduced to this form of social media. I have them write a “blog entry” as part of their food lab experiences. Your campus food entries will be great examples!
Thank you! Sorry the campus entrees aren’t here, but I’d love to keep in contact if you have any questions.
Sounds like a plan, Sami! Can’t wait to hear more about college!
woo hoo! i’m a college freshman too this year so i know exactly how you feel
This is a great idea. I’m looking forward to seeing what you all select for posting. Have a great day. Blessings…Mary
Hey Sami!
Didn’t know you blogged! It was nice to meet you today. Hit me up sometime.
I’m going to college this next year. I’m so glad that you are enjoying it!
This is a great idea! I understand the feeling though – schoolwork and other things can keep you away from blogging. ^^ But at least it is a good thing to be kept away by.
I discovered Deb @ Smitten Kitchen and Tyla @ Learning to Live Without a Microwave in my first year of university and reading about all those amazing recipes while living in res was like torture. When I returned to my hometown in the spring it must have been at least a week before I allowed anyone else in “my” kitchen! Now that I have my own place and a kitchen that really is mine I can cook as much as I want …in spite of a crippling grocery budget and an endless pile of textbooks to read (: For now I’ll check out some more of your old posts but I look forward to something new when you’re out of residence or home for the holidays! Best of luck!
(P.S. I loved your lemon curd post, that stuff is good on everything! Also, I totally have a guilty-pleasure, choclate-craving-zapper as well. Although mine is super bitter, just coca powder with a little butter. Sometimes sugar. Sometimes. Is that bad? That I essentially eat butter by the spoonful? I think it’s bad, but I’m choosing not to care.)
Haha! That you so much for your comment, and no. Eating butter by the spoonful isn’t bad in moderation.
I’m an olive oil addict. I bet you could use olive oil instead. Oil in place of water makes the mixture smooth instead of gummy. I’ll be home on Tuesday, and I’m planning to cook all day!
